Windows 10 Home 64-bit English brings back the Start Menu from Windows 7 and introduces new features, like the Edge Web browser that lets you markup Web pages on your screen.Jet Black
Battery life is not as advertised. It is an extremely slow device. It is not well built and the connection point between the screen and the computer needs to be treated with the utmost care or else it will break. Would not recommend.Others in the reviews where complaining about Windows 10S being shipped. AND? where is the problem? Get on the internet and learn how to change it to Windows home modus... I even updated my laptop to windows professional for only $99.00 directly through the system menus and downloaded straight from Microsoft. The whole process of switching from "S" modus to "home" modus took only a few minutes. The update to Windows 10 Professional also only took a few minutes. If you buy a car then you take care of it, the same goes for your computer. This laptop is fast and the colors are good. Naturally, if you have sweaty hands your prints are going to show up just like it would on any other laptop. Currently I'm running two Samsung 27" curved monitors for programming and other applications including accounting and bookkeeping. Don't put this laptop down, it's a good one for college and home working situations. The review by ROBERT on 5/1/20 with pictures of the case cracking and separating where the AC cord plugs into the side of the laptop near the bottom of the monitor is correct. The same thing happened to me. Of course, it started cracking and separating after the manufacturer's warranty had expired. The laptop still works but I can't close the lid. I have to keep it open because when I try to close it causes the housing to separate even further from the base! Not sure if any other owners have encountered this. I've noticed that HP has started to manufacture laptops with one long hinge to open the laptop instead of two hinges (1 on each side). It's really thick & heavy was disappointed about that .A little over a year, and now this is happening. I don't remove it from its current location only to clean the table. NEVER DROPPED or BANGED into anything. As time went by I noticed a clicking and popping sound. As I inspected the casing I noticed this separation. In addition, as I lifted it to further inspect a rattling can now be heard...I'm guessing a loose screw or something like it.(#1)Yes, you can upload Google Chrome. It took me hours to figure out, unfortunately, I don't remember all the steps. I do know it started with switching out of Windows 10 S. It would have been a five-star if it wasn't for all the research and re-research.(#2) The plastic cover/casing has a nice and subtle textured pattern but it shows all the oil from your fingers/hands. I'm constantly wiping it down...it always looks dirty if you don't wipe it down.(#3) I hear no fan noise at all. You have to hold your ear up close to the laptop to hear anything.(#4) The camera is big-time shhh-it-ee. So disappointing.(#5) The sound/volume is amazing.(#6) I hear a short low buzzing when it's first turned on...not sure if it's intentional.I could have sworn this was described as having a touchscreen as that's what I wanted but it's not. It's been a long time since I've used a cursor to scroll. If I had realized earlier it wasn't a touchscreen, I would return it but now it has all my info on it and I'm not paying to have it "cleaned". Other than that, it's a nice, good-sized laptop---another thing I wanted. I was tired of only 12" through 15" inch screens being offered. It did come quickly but---just wish it was a touchscreen. The system worked great out of the box. I was an avid Dell user, and this is my first ever HP purchase. I couldn't be happier with it. I almost didn't buy this computor because of the negative comments about receiving it with "S" mode. As soon as I tried to download something outside of Microsoft store, a box popped open an asked me if I wanted to exit "S" mode. I clicked "yes" and "S" mode is gone. It was that simple. I am an avid game player, and have had no issues playing any of my games with it. It has everything I wanted at a reasonable price, and start up is lightning fast.unless you are super-versed in wireless networking hardware. The wireless chipset is by Broadcom/Realtek and is a real bear to get working. Tried with three distros--MX-Linux, Lubuntu, and Mint. Spent three days trying to get it to work. Finally, thanks to a post by Jeremy in the Linux Mint Community, I managed to make it work.I have owned probably 6-7 HP computers over the years (desktops and laptops) and over all, this one just feels "cheap".ADDITIONALLY there is no light on the top working surface to tell you that it is on OR if the disk is operating. Only two miniscule lights on the right side edge. The power switch is just a small, barely raised bar with no positive physical feedback. The sound is good, the speed is good. I'm older than dirt and if I didn't know this would likely be my last new computer, I would say I would never buy another HP--but it would be an empty threat! lolThe laptop began overheating after three hours while I was typing a word document. The keyboard also became stiff and I had difficulty typing as the words would come out incomplete if i didn't press hard on the keyboard. This was a new laptop and also the first time I had used it as I bought it for school. I had to return it. I do not recommend this laptop. Also, the seller did not return my money in full - they kept the tax that I paid plus I had to pay for the return - that's about $200 loss.Siempre había comprado HP porque anteriormente mis laptops habían salido muy buenas, pero esta tuvo dos detalles: el audio tarda como uno o dos segundos en reproducirse, y el más importante, la laptop que me llegó, tiene un defecto en el display, pues de pronto se apaga y al regresar, se ve todo doble y borroso.Excellent productNeeds a better video card. Net-Flix is blotchy ad pixelated.Entrega antes de lo acordado, 100% recomendable
