This is the first computer I’ve purchased strictly with gaming in mind, and I have to say I’m pretty impressed with it so far.ProsPlays modern games at max settings with no lag. I’m consistently getting anywhere between 30-90 fps on World of Warcraft, depending on where I am in the game. Mind you, this is with all my addons running as well, Fallout 4 up and running in the background, several Chrome tabs open, and other games downloading simultaneously. Fallout 4 also looks great and plays extremely smoothly. (I have only had the computer for a day, so that’s all the games I have downloaded so far.)Very quiet, barely even noticeable sound of fan running.Speaker sound is adequate, not great quality, but fairly clear and loud for a laptop.Backlit keyboard is nice, but would prefer a different color than red. Typing is quiet-ish - not the quietest keyboard I’ve used, but not the loudest either.Have not noticed issues with the trackpad that others have mentioned - it seems fine to me. Obviously for gaming I’m using a mouse and not the trackpad, so not really an issue anyway.ConsBattery life is very short. Out of the box, it’s lasting for about 2-3 hours. However, this isn’t a huge problem for me, as I don’t really ever plan to play on it in a location where I would not be able to keep it plugged in.No ethernet port - operates completely on wifi. So far it hasn’t caused any issues, but I like to be plugged in, so I plan to get a USB to ethernet adapter.Games load a bit slowly. Once you’re in there’s no lag at all, but the loading screen takes awhile. I plan to add an SSD to try to fix this. The dimmest brightness setting is still not dim enough for me. I want to be able to use the laptop in the dark without it hurting my eyes, and this isn’t quite achievable for me on the lowest brightness setting.
